December Carol-fest 2017

The theme for this year’s Carol-fest is
The Five Senses and it will begin at 6:00pm
sharp on Wednesday, December 20th (doors will open at 5:30pm). It is for parents and grandparents (please try to limit guests to 4 as seating is limited). The concert features Gr. 2, 3 and 4 students as well as the Junior Choir. Each grade will be revealing a Christmas “sense” and singing a couple of songs each related to their topic. The Junior Choir will conclude the concert with an important message. Concert attire should be Christmas colors or Christmas best. It’s time to get dressed up! We are looking forward to celebrating the Christmas season with music and poetry. Hope to see you on the 20th of December.

November Music News (K to Gr. 4)

Last year, we re-vamped Carol-fest by dividing up the grades into 2 separate concerts. It was a successful experience as each grade was featured more prominently in a concert. We will follow a similar format this year but will begin with our older students in December (As I only see the kindergarten students once in a 6-day cycle, I will need more time to get to know them). Therefore, a spring concert will be on the calendar for the younger ones this year.

Grade 2, 3 and 4

This Christmas season we will highlight the classes of Gr. 2, 3 and 4 along with the Junior Choir in a performance about The 5 Senses. Parents and grandparents are asked to mark this date on their calendar: December 20th at 6:00p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 pm.

Kindergarten and Grade 1
In early spring, we will feature the classes of Kindergarten and Grade One. Their performance will be about “A Rainbow of Colors”.  More information about this exciting spring concert will come in the New year.

K TO GRADE 4 MUSIC PROGRAM – Taught by Mrs. Martin
The goal of the Music program is to teach students the elements of music through singing, playing, creating, moving and listening. Music education is incredibly important to the overall development of a child.  At St. Brigid School, students have the opportunity to participate in music classes, the choir program (Grades 2 to 6), Hymn Sing (K to Gr. 3) and concerts, where they practice learned singing skills and repertoire.  For more information on the Junior Choir, please read below.
JUNIOR CHOIR NEWS

The Junior Choir will begin on October 24th for all students who love to sing in Grades 2 and 3. Practices will be held every Day 3 @ 12:30 pm. Parents of interested students should look for a choir note coming home after Thanksgiving.

Looking forward to a fun-filled year of music!
